October 29, 1962 my parents, Austin Howard Carter Jr. and Elizabeth Anne Foster Carter, had their first child and named her Deidre Dionne Carter. What an amazing life I’ve had so far. I was raised by a village of people, of course my parents and grandparents and each and every one has had an incredible impact on my life. I married a guy from Chicago, Patrick Kirkland Malone, who is my best friend. We have been married 31 years and we have two sons who make me proud every day. Of course the best job we both have are being grandparents to Patrick “Trey” Malone III and Bailee Christian Malone.
I have a job that I love. I work for myself. I’ve built a business over the last 13 years that has been tested and has tested and stretched me. The Carter Malone Group received two awards this week. One from the Dr. Benjamin Hooks Job Corp and from the Black Business Association.
I have mentored some amazing people who are crushing it in their professions and lives.
I thank God for all of my blessings and all 54 years of this life. I don’t take any day for granted because I know it’s not promised to me. I plan to continue to live my life the same fearless, focused and God believing way. Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
