Deidre Malone was elected and sworn in as the new president of the NAACP Memphis Branch in January 2017. Malone had served on the Executive Committee for years and served as the Chair of Public Relations. The Memphis Branch is the largest branch within the oldest grassroots civil and human rights organization in the country. The term is a 2-year term. She was also asked to serve as the Tennessee State Conference Chair for Public Relations by State President Gloria Sweet Love.
